The Power of Music: A Response to the Attacks at Bataclan

On November 13th, 2015, the Eagles of Death Metal were playing a show at the Bataclan concert hall in Paris when the venue was attacked, killing 89 people.

In response to this horrific event, the band has turned to the music community for support, encouraging artists to lend their talent and influence to the 'Play It Forward Initiative.' This initiative invites fellow musicians to record a cover of the Eagles of Death Metal's song "I Love You All the Time." All proceeds will then be donated to the Sweet Stuff Foundation, a charity co-founded by guitarist Josh Homme, to help aid the victims' families.

Some of the artists who have already joined in are My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, and Florence and the Machine whose version features The Maccabees, as well. For more information on the campaign and where you can listen to the songs, visit the Play it Forward website. And if you have Spotify, you can listen to the full Play It Forward playlist here.

Florence + the Machine team up with the Macabees for the "Play It Forward Campaign", covering the Eagles of Death Metal Song "I Love You All the Time" for Charity. This single comes in the light of the Paris attacks in November 2015.

This initiative is a beautiful illustration of how music brings us together during the most threatening and heartbreaking of moments; how it allows us to give a piece of ourselves to a greater cause.
